On April 12, 2023, Levan Ioseliani, Public Defender of Georgia, and Natia Julakidze, Deputy Public Defender, met with representatives of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Georgia.

At the introductory meeting, Lela Bakradze, Head of the UNFPA Georgia Office, spoke about the long-term practice of cooperation with the Public Defender’s Office. The parties reviewed the current situation of women's sexual and reproductive health and rights in the country and agreed on measures to be taken in the future to improve the rights situation of women.

The meeting was also attended by Sopio Rusetski, Acting Head of the Gender Department of the Public Defender’s Office.
