On April 6-7, 2023, representatives of the Equality Department of the Public Defender’s Office, with the support of the Council of Europe, conducted training on equality and anti-discrimination for the representatives of supermarkets.

Within the framework of the training, the representatives of the Equality Department provided information to the participants about the equality and anti-discrimination standards applied in the country, constituent elements of discrimination, types of discrimination and protection mechanisms. One training session was devoted to the issue of incitement to discrimination and expressions inciting discrimination. The practice of the Public Defender was also discussed at the training.

The Public Defender's Equality Department continues to work in the direction of raising awareness of representatives of the private and public spheres on issues of protection against discrimination.
