Public Defender's Meeting with Students

On April 5, 2024, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani met with law students of several higher education institutions and talked with them about the essence and importance of human rights, as well as the mandate and role of the Public Defender’s Office.

Students received information about the history of the establishment of the Public Defender's institution, the procedure and practice of receiving citizens and dealing with individual cases, the educational mandate and role of the Public Defender as a national equality mechanism.

The meeting aimed at studying the activities of the Public Defender’s Office was held at the initiative of the European Law Students' Association and was organized by the Department of Human Rights Education of the Public Defender’s Office. Employees of the Department of Citizen Service and Primary Response, the Department of Equality and the Department of Human Rights Education participated in the meeting.
