Public Defender Visits Childcare Institutions in Kakheti Region
On June 25, 2025, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, visited childcare institutions in the Kakheti region, inspected the infrastructure, and received information about the living conditions and rights of children living there.
According to the Public Defender, in Kakheti, as in the country in general, small group homes have insufficient or no services tailored to individual needs.
Provision of continuous, appropriate, and integrated services to minors with difficult behavior or mental health problems is particularly acute.
The Public Defender of Georgia continues to study and assess the rights of minors in state care and emphasizes the need to develop and strengthen support services for both children and specialists working with them.
