According to the statement released by the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC), the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus massively affects children in general and worsens the condition of the most vulnerable groups. The statement says that the Network and its members will monitor the situation of children, as well as the responses of local, national and European authorities during and after the period of isolation. At the same time, they will continue to share information, best practices and experiences for the safety of children and their families and for protecting children’s rights enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) and other European and international human rights instruments.
