Meeting with Chief of ICC Office in Georgia

On December 22, 2017, the Public Defender's Office of Georgia hosted a meeting between civil society representatives and new Chief of the Office of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in Georgia.

The meeting was introductory and aimed at exchanging information and expanding cooperation capabilities between the ICC Office in Georgia, the Public Defender's Office of Georgia and human rights organizations. Kaupo Kand spoke about the nearest plans of the Office and listened to the questions and opinions of the representatives of civil society. It was noted at the end of the meeting that such meetings would have regular character.

Kaupo Kand has been heading the Office of the International Criminal Court in Georgia since December 2017. The Office is a body representing the Court’s Chancellery and is not connected with the Court’s Office of the Prosecutor or other bodies. The main function of the ICC Office in Georgia will be public relations and dissemination of information.
