On April 24, 25, 26, 2024 and on May 24, 2024, members of the Special Preventive Group of the Public Defender of Georgia made preventive visits to Penitentiary Establishment No. 6. The purpose of the monitoring was to study the situation of treatment of prisoners and evaluate the implementation of the recommendations issued in previous years.

The report is based on the assessment of the environment in the establishment during the preventive visit, information obtained from the documentation produced in the establishment, including medical documentation, information obtained during individual and confidential interviews with the staff and prisoners, and official statistical information.

The first part of the report describes the situation in terms of torture and ill-treatment in Penitentiary Establishment No. 6 and the second part of the report analyzes the risk factors of torture and ill-treatment.
