General Case Management Program improved:

  • Increase in effective coordination
  • Increase in improved quality of case management and flexibility of document-circulation
  • Training of representatives of both central and regional PDO offices

General information databases maintained at the Public Defender’s Office developed and systematized:

  • General database of recommendations/proposals and responses in 2014
  • General database on memorandums signed by Public Defender
  • General database on participation of the Public Defender in constitutional legal proceedings
  • Creation of personal information database filing system ongoing

Strengthening of human resources of Public Defender’s Office:

  • Increase in staff number (from 74 to 91 units)
  • Increase in number of employed staff (from 68 to 86 units)
  • 4 out of 28 interns employed
  • number of staff employed in projects -14
  • total number of employees – 105

Establishment of the Analytical Department at Public Defender’s Office

  • Analytical Department established on April 1, 2014
  • Staffing of the Analytical Department with relevant human resources (head of the department, two chief specialists and a legal exert)

Establishment of the Department of Equality at Public Defender’s Office

  • On May 2, 2014 the Parliament adopted the Law of Georgia On Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination
  • On August 22, 2014 establishment of the Department of Equality at the Public Defender
  • Recruitment of head of the department and specialists in November, 2014
  • Department provided with financial/technical resources
