Bulletin, Periodic Edition – September, 2016

The Public Defender of Georgia has presented another information bulletin about the efforts of the Public Defender’s Office. The bulletin offers information concerning the project Monitoring of Human Rights Violations in the Pre-election Period and describes the activities of the task forces, court monitors and coordinators that were working within the framework of the project. It also reviews the meetings held by the Public Defender's Office for promoting the project.

In the bulletin you can read the Public Defender's position concerning inclusion of national minorities and women in electoral and political processes in order to improve the quality of the election process, as well as the issue of creation of inclusive electoral environment.

The report provides information about the special report on the security and socio-economic rights situation of the people living along the dividing line of Samegrelo and Abkhazia, meetings of the consultative councils, meetings and international visits of the Public Defender and his deputies.

You can also find information about the Public Defender's amicus curia brief on the alleged discrimination on grounds of age, as well as the recommendations prepared and issued by the Public Defender's Office. In addition, you can get information about informational meetings, educational trainings, monitoring of closed institutions and successful restoration of human rights due to the abovementioned efforts taken by the Public Defender’s Office.
