Public Defender Participates in European Conference of Data Protection Authorities
On May 6-9, 2025, the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, participated in the 33rd High-Level European Conference of Data Protection Authorities, which was organized in Batumi by the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia.
The conference discussed the latest developments, relevant issues, trends and reforms in the field of data protection supervision in Georgia and Europe.
In his welcoming speech, Levan Ioseliani emphasized the importance of personal data protection as one of the main directions of human rights and spoke about the fruitful cooperation between the Public Defender of Georgia and the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia.
The event, attended by representatives of the European Data Protection Authorities and other agencies, discussed the creation and refinement of a data protection legislative framework in the context of technological developments, including artificial intelligence, the inviolability of children's privacy, the difficulties of protecting personal data related to a person's health, and the role of personal data protection officers and privacy practitioners.
