The Public Defender of Georgia echoes the media reports, according to which, some Georgian citizens living abroad, who have the right to vote, cannot find themselves in the list of voters for the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The Public Defender explains that the right to participate in elections is a fundamental right of citizens living abroad with the right to vote, therefore, it is necessary for the State to take effective steps to ensure the above.

The Public Defender once again calls on voters to check the unified list of voters in time so that they can enjoy the right to vote on the election day.

It should be noted that it is possible to request changes in the list of voters until October 8.

If your data cannot be found in the election list despite going through the relevant procedures, or if you believe that your rights were violated in some other way in connection with participation in elections, you can contact the Public Defender at any time. The Office will study each such case and take response measures in accordance with law.
