On 12 November 2018, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria met with members of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities. The delegation is visiting Georgia to study the situation of national minorities.

Nino Lomjaria briefed the members of the Advisory Committee of the Public Defender’s mandate and role in the field of national minorities. She also talked about the issues of integration and education. The guests showed particular interest in the effectiveness of the anti-discrimination law in the direction of national minorities.

The delegation of the Council of Europe also met with members of the Council of National Minorities of the Public Defender and received information about the protection of national minorities in Georgia.
