On 11 April 2019, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria and Deputy Public Defender Giorgi Burjanadze met with Vladimer Imnadze, Director of the State Service of Veterans Affairs, and other members of the Service.

Veterans’ rights situation and needs, as well as the forms and prospects of joint cooperation for addressing veterans’ problems, were discussed at the introductory meeting.

The State Service of Veterans Affairs welcomed the Public Defender’s recommendations relating to the improvement of veterans' rights.

The Public Defender expressed readiness to actively protect veterans' rights by the help of her central and regional representatives and underlined the importance of strengthened communication between the two agencies in this direction.
