The Public Defender of Georgia categorically condemns the attack by an aggressive group on people, including children, participating in the camp arranged by the Institute of Individual Freedom in the Borjomi municipality.

The Public Defender also condemns the assault on Zurab Girchi Japaridze, who was on his way to the camp during the incident.

The Public Defender calls on the law enforcement officers to respond immediately and effectively, in order to primarily ensure the safety of the persons in the camp, including minors, to carry out all the measures within the law, and to conduct an effective investigation into each criminal fact, inter alia, in order to determine whether the criminal activities were organized in advance and to identify all the responsible persons.

The Public Defender will study the mentioned case within the framework of his mandate.
