Public Defender of Georgia Meets with Chief Prosecutor of Georgia
Nino Lomjaria, Public Defender of Georgia, has met with Irakli Shotadze, Chief Prosecutor of Georgia. At the meeting held at the Prosecutor's Office, the Public Defender got interested in the investigation of high-profile cases. She also spoke about the shortcomings she sees in the performance of the Prosecutor's Office.
Nino Lomjaria offered the Chief Prosecutor a more efficient cooperation format in the cases of special importance so that the Public Defender has access to more detailed information about investigations. The Chief Prosecutor confirmed his readiness for close cooperation and communication with the Public Defender.
The meeting at the Prosecutor's Office was attended by First Deputy Public Defender Tamar Gvaramadze, Deputy Public Defender Giorgi Burjanadze, Deputy Public Defender Ekaterine Skhiladze, First Deputy Chief Prosecutor Mamuka Vasadze, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Giorgi Gabitashvili, as well as Natia Merebashvili, Head of the Division of Supervision of Prosecutorial Activities and Strategic Development at the Chief Prosecutor’s Office, and Salome Shengelia, Head of the Human Rights Department of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office.
