On 23 August 2018, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria met with members of German Chancellor Angela Merkel's delegation, representatives of the German Bundestag.

At the meeting, the Public Defender of Georgia focused on the rights situation of the residents of the occupied territories and the conflict-affected persons.

The Public Defender also spoke about the human rights situation in Georgia, major achievements and challenges.
