On July 18, 2024, the Public Defender of Georgia submitted to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe a communication on the progress of the execution of the judgements of the European Court of Human Rights relating to the cases of the Identoba Group.

The Public Defender's communication responds to the recent decision of the Committee of Ministers on the execution of the Identoba cases, the action plans submitted by the Georgian authorities, and assesses the general measures taken to implement the judgments. In particular, the following issues are discussed in the communication: intolerant attitude towards the LGBT+ community, enjoyment of freedom of assembly, investigation of hate crimes and administration of justice, neglect of the LGBT+ community in the new human rights action plan.
