On 24 September 2019, Public Defender of Georgia Nino Lomjaria met with Polish Ombudsman Adam Bodnar in Warsaw. The ombudsmen spoke about the human rights situation in Georgia and Poland, with particular emphasis on issues such as challenges related to the implementation of equality principles, rights of older people, threats to media freedom, format of parliamentary relations and independence of the judiciary.

The parties agreed on future cooperation in order to share work experience and best practices.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Public Defender Giorgi Burjanadze.
