International Conference - Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights: Opportunities, Risks and Vision for a Better Future

On May 27-28, 2025, the First Deputy Public Defender of Georgia, Tamar Gvaramadze, participated in an international conference held in Doha (State of Qatar), where issues related to artificial intelligence were discussed.

In her speech, Tamar Gvaramadze spoke about the negative impact of artificial intelligence on the realization of human rights, including civil, political, socio-economic rights; She also emphasized the importance of national human rights institutions, within the framework of their authority, considering individual complaints, conducting systemic monitoring, developing and submitting proposals and recommendations to state institutions, as well as holding awareness-raising events, as a result of which the negative impact of artificial intelligence can be reduced on human rights.

In addition, the First Deputy Public Defender, as a member of the ENNHRI Board, spoke about the initiatives of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions and shared the Network's experience of recent years in this direction with the conference participants.
