To mark World Environment Day, west regional offices of the Public Defender of Georgia organized a number of activities on June 5, 2019.

In the framework of the right to healthy environment, they introduced special reports of the Public Defender of Georgia on “Access to Water and Sanitation at Schools” and “Right to Clean Air” to pupils at Kutaisi Public School #20. They also cleaned Mukhnari Forest at the entrance of Kutaisi. Civil activists and students of Akaki Tsereteli University joined the venture.

Representatives of the Public Defender met with the staff of Batumi Cleaning Municipal Department, introduced the mandate of the Public Defender and discussed their problems. The representatives of the Public Defender also took part in clean up of Anaklia beach and village Likhauri of Ozurgeti Municipality.
