On December 1, 2025, Public Defender Levan Ioseliani visited Penitentiary Establishment No. 1 located in Laituri.

The Public Defender visited the newly opened women's unit, spoke with female defendants, and also met with life-sentenced prisoners and other inmates; received information about the protection of prisoners' rights and provided prisoners with information about the measures taken by the Public Defender for the effective realization of their rights.

The Public Defender inspected the prison infrastructure, met with the management and administration of the institution.

The Public Defender continues to supervise the protection of prisoners' rights.
