The Public Defender of Georgia considers necessary to conduct the effective and timely investigation of the death of a prisoner in the Geguti N14 penitentiary Institution. The Ombudsman appeals to the Ministery of Correction and Legal Assistance of Georgia to take all possible preventive measures for protecting the personal security of the prisoners in the Geguti N 14 penitentiary Institution and to evoid those tragic incidents.

Durings the last one year, this is the second incident, resulting in the death of a prisone in Geguti N 14 penitentiary Institution, which underlines to the existing problems of prisoners personal security in this institution.

On 4 March, 2014, according to the officia information of the Ministery of Correction and Legal Assistance of Georgia, at 02:30 pm, in the cell designed for six inmates, in Geguti N 14 penitentiary Institution, a conflict had occurred, resulting in fatal consequences. This mentioned fact is being studied by the representatives of the Public Defender of Georgia.
