Meeting with Head of EUMM in Georgia

On 1 March 2019, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria met with Eric Høeg, Head of the EUMM Mission in Georgia, and briefed him of the Public Defender's mandate, the challenges faced by the Public Defender’s Office and the rights situation of conflict-affected population in the country.

Nino Lomjaria emphasized the following challenges faced by people living in the occupied territories: freedom of movement, documentation, access to education and healthcare; she also talked about the ways of solving the problems.

The meeting was also attended by the Adviser to the Public Defender for Human Rights in Conflict-Affected Regions, Meri Kochlamazashvili, and EUMM Political Adviser George Sandi.
