Monitoring of the process of interviewing female victims of domestic violence in the court

The present study evaluates the process of interviewing female victims of domestic violence in the court, as well as whether the court infrastructure is focused on protecting adult victims of domestic violence and domestic crime from secondary victimization.

Along with the monitoring results, the international human rights standard and national legislation are reviewed in the special report. Accordingly, the present special report identifies both practical and legislative shortcomings.

The study was conducted jointly by the Public Defender of Georgia and the non-governmental organization Rights Georgia within the framework of the project "Ensuring the Right to a Fair Trial for Female Victims of Violence by Monitoring their Questioning in Court and Further Advocacy". The project is supported by the USAID Rule of Law Program (PROLoG), which is implemented by the East West Management Institute (EWMI).
