Tower in Sasireti Village Granted Cultural Heritage Status following Public Defender's Appeal

The National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia has taken into consideration the appeal of the Public Defender's Office and granted the status of immovable cultural heritage to a cylindrical tower in the village of Sasireti, Kaspi Municipality.

The issue of the tower was raised at the meeting with representatives of Public Defender's Shida Kartli Office by students of the Sasireti public school on 8 May 2019. The students noted that there was a watchtower dating back to the XVI-XVIII centuries in the village, which needed rehabilitation.
