Implementation of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security in Georgia

On December 21, 2015, the Governmental Administration, the UN Women and the Public Defender's Office organized a meeting on the issue of implementation of the 2012–2015 National Action Plan onWomen, Peace and Security.

Participants of the meeting were addressed by UN Women Representative in Georgia Erika Kvapilova, Assistant to the Prime Minister on Human Rights and Gender Equality Sopho Japharidze, Chairwoman of Parliament’s Gender Equality Council Manana Kobakhidze and Deputy Public Defender Paata Beltadze.

The event was attended by representatives of the agencies responsible for the implementation of the National Action Plan, as well as of international non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders.

Ana Lobjanidze, the representative of the Public Defender's Gender Equality Department, reviewed the monitoring results of the National Action Plan and the efforts carried out by the responsible agencies. She identified gaps, summarized the main findings of the monitoring and presented recommendations to the audience.
