Public Defender Meets Former Employee of Imedi TV Company

On 3 May 2019, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria met with former employee of Imedi TV company, Maia Stepnadze, who links her dismissal to her statement posted on the social network.

According to Nino Lomjaria, the information provided by Maia Stepnadze raises suspicions regarding discrimination on grounds of different opinion/opinions. The Public Defender’s Office will examine Maia Stepanadze's statement within the framework of the equality mechanism and will establish, after assessing relevant factual circumstances and evidences, whether there had been violation of the right to work due to the enjoyment of freedom of speech and freedom of expression.

The Public Defender will request information from Imedi TV; both sides will be able to express their opinions.
