Meeting with EUMM Head in Georgia

On 18 June 2019, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria met with Erik Høeg,Head of the EU Monitoring Mission in Georgia, and provided information about the Public Defender's mandate, activites of the Public Defender's Office and the rights situation of conflict-affected persons.

Nino Lomjaria emphasized the challenges faced by people living in the occupied territories, such as: freedom of movement, issues related to documentation, access to education and healthcare; she also talked about the ways of solving the problems.

The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Public Defender Tamar Gvaramadze, Adviser for Human Rights in Conflict-Affected Regions Meri Koklamazashvili and EUMM Political Advisor George Sandi.
