Meeting with Representatives of European Commission against Racism and Intolerance

Public Defender Nino Lomjaria, together with the Deputies of the Public Defender, met with representatives of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance in Strasbourg on January 28, 2020.

The situation of equality, freedom of religion, cases of hate crimes and the use of hate speech were discussed at the meeting. Representatives of the Commission discussed in detail the interim report released by the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance that was published in early 2019.

The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance positively assessed the activities of the Tolerance Center operating under the Public Defender of Georgia and called on the Agency of Religion to share the many-year expertise of the Center.
